Born in 1960 in Lower Normandy, Régis Benoist began his musical education at the Conservatoire du Havre with classical guitar and then trombone. During his education, he performed all kinds of music in various groups (rock, jazz, variety, sacred music, symphonic, wind bands, harmony orchestra).He will then perform as an orchestral trombonist in Russia, Austria, Norway, Spain, the Czech Republic and the United States, where his formation will receive his first commentary price at the Orchestra's international competition in Washington DC. Interested in composing, Régis Benoist writes works for harmony orchestras and woodwind groups, for which he has transcribed several of Bach's works. The Republican Guard brass troupe created one of their original works in 2008.
