Patsy Ford Simms (born 1946) is an American composer who is widely published in both the secular and religious fields.
Patsy Ford Simms began composing in 1981 at the age of 35 as a matter of necessity, being a music teacher in American middle schools and requiring music to teach to her students. Her extensive work over more than three decades has earned her international recognition and renown, particularly in Italy and Africa where she has been a presenter.One of Patsy's most notable compositions is Amani Utupe, written in English and Swahili, and was written for Kenyan friends of hers.
In 2000, Pope John Paul II commissioned Patsy to compose the official music for the Grand Jubilee in the Vatican.
