Chaikin Nikolai (1915 - 2000) N. Y. Chaikin was born in Kharkov on 15th of February 1915 to a family of office workers. It was from his father that Nikolai inherited his love for music. While studying at the music school, Chaikin took part in the Kharkov Radio Orchestra of Folk Instruments.
