Alfredo Eusebio Gobbi
Alfredo Eusebio Gobbi (born February 5, 1877 Paysandú; d. Buenos Aires, January 25, 1938) was a prominent Uruguayan tango musician, who settled in Buenos Aires as a teenager. With his wife, he formed a famous duo known as Los Gobbi or Los Reyes del Gramofono, who recorded a large number of albums in the first two decades of the 20th century and were one of the most successful artists of the early years of tango, during the so-called Guardia Old.His compositions include the lyrics that he composed for the tango "Don Juan" by Ernesto Ponzio and the songs "Preciosa mía", "El picaflor", "Sin madre", "La entrerriana" and "Delirio gaucho" recorded by him Gardel-Razzano duo and "Altar criollo", "El ranchito", "Lauros y glories" and "No me abandonones", recorded by Ignacio Corsini.
