Dang the Phong
Dang The Phong (April 14, 1918 – August 2, 1942) was a musician of the pioneering generation of Vietnamese new music, one of the most representative faces of the pre-war music period. He died at the age of 24 and left only three songs: Autumn Night, The Boat Without a Wharf and Raindrops Autumn.Dang The Phong was born on April 5, 1918 in Nam Dinh city. His father is Dang Hien The, Thong is a judge of the Nam Dinh Register Department.The Phong printed in the edition of The Boat without a Wharf published by Tinh Hoa Publishing House in Saigon in 1964: Dang The Phong was born in 1918, the second son of Mr. Dang Hien The, Judge of the Nam Dinh City Register, is the second child of a family of six brothers, two boys and four girls. His father died early, the family was poor, he had to give up his education when he was studying in 2ème année P.S. He went to Hanoi to study at the College of Fine Arts as an auditor.
