James Vincent Monaco (January 13, 1885 – October 16, 1945) was an Italian-born American composer of popular musicMonaco was born in Formia, Italy. His family emigrated to the United States when he was six, and he grew up in Albany, New York, where he started playing piano in bars by the age of 18. He relocated to Chicago, where he became known as "Ragtime Jimmie", before moving to New York City in 1910.
