Gabriel González (b. 1978) is an Argentinean-Swedish folk singer, songwriter. He is known for his soft-sounding melodies accompanied by classical guitar.González was born in Gothenburg, Sweden. His family immigrated from Argentina in 1976 and José González was born in 1978. Influenced by the Latin folk and pop music he listened to while growing up, González's favorite musician is Cuban protest singer Silvio Rodriguez.He won the "Best Song" award for his song "Far Away" in the soundtrack album of Red Dead Redemption, which was selected as the "Best Video Game" of 2010 by the Spike Video Game Awards
