Gottfried Veit was born in Bolzano on the 13th August 1943. He received professional musical education attending the Academy of Music and Arts Mozarteum, Salzburg, and the National Conservatory "Claudio Monteverdi" in his hometown. After his studies he continued his education with Henk van Lijnschooten in conducting orchestras and with Helmuth Rilling in directing choirs.
