This book is a guide to chord...(more) substitutions for piano but might work for guitar as well. The first third of the book applies to theory, orchestration, composition, arranging, harmony. The remainder of the book contains several songs for improvisation, first in their original arrangements with melody lines, lyrics, and chords. Then the same song arranged by Andy LaVerne with substitute chords. A great book for advancing one's skills in theory and improvisation.
